ABOUT THE PRINTS
The Switch to Traditional Chemistry
For years, I printed and shipped everything myself on high-quality inkjet papers like Canson Baryta, but the logistics were keeping me away from the streets. I needed more time to shoot, so I decided to hand the production over to the pros at ThePrintSpace.
During the transition, I ordered side-by-side test prints of my photos on my usual inkjet papers and a traditional Fuji Matt C-Type. I honestly didn't expect it, but the C-Type won easily. Because it’s a true chemical photographic process rather than just sprayed ink, the prints simply looked better and felt more organic.
The Paper & Finish
Fuji Matt C-Type is a professional-grade, light-sensitive photographic paper. Unlike inkjet prints that spray ink onto the surface, C-type prints are exposed with lasers and processed in traditional "wet" chemistry to create a true, continuous-tone image.
Deep, Natural Colors: Silver halide crystals embedded in the paper create incredibly smooth color transitions and rich, natural blacks.
Surface Finish: It features a semi-matt, slightly stippled (fine-grained) texture. This non-reflective surface eliminates glare, making it perfect for viewing in any lighting condition.
Visual Quality: Known for its authentic photographic look, it maintains excellent color accuracy and a unique "three-dimensional" depth.
Archival Durability: The paper is resin-coated, making it robust and resistant to fingerprints. When stored properly, this archival-quality material will resist fading for decades.
