• SUN.: 7H PRACTICE + 3H EDIT & CRITIQUE
This workshop is suitable for students of all levels. Pau will spend one-on-one time with each with one of the students and he'll adapt to their needs, both in the editing table and on the streets. We'll start on Friday at 5pm with a presentation about Street Photography where we'll cover some general concepts, share useful tips and see the process behind some of Pau's photos, with 'behind the scenes' pics. We'll end around 9pm after a portfolio critique.
Saturday and Sunday will be mainly dedicated to practice (8h), followed by editing and critique (3h) and discussion at the end of each day. For the shooting part, students will split into 2 groups and Pau will shoot with 3 of them half day while the other 3 will shoot individually, working with an assignment. We'll switch groups after lunch.
Although this is a practice-based workshop, the weekend will start with some theory where we'll cover general concepts, history and different approaches to street photography. Pau will share useful tips about composition, moment, technique and the "approaching strategy", but the main focus will be put in photographing with INTENTION.
Saturday and Sunday are mostly spent on the streets, shooting alongside Pau and learning from each scene we encounter on the way. There won't be a pre-planned route and we'll work the same way Pau does in his every day, by letting the photos guide us around the city.
At the end of the day we'll have 3 hours for editing and a final critique session. Pau will go around the table to sit down with each participant during the editing process, helping to narrow down the selection and sharing his Lightroom editing workflow. We will end with a review and critique of each student's work.
This workshop is suitable for students of all levels.
Latest 2 weeks before the workshop begins, you'll need to send over a selection of 15 of your photographs.
During Saturday and Sunday we'll walk around 15km each day, so bring a good pair of comfortable shoes. You're free to bring any camera/lens or even shoot with your smartphone if you wish, but I recommend using a focal length of 28 or 35mm. You'll also need your own laptop with Lightroom (or similar) installed.
